From July 7-11 our studio had 9 dancers compete at the 2010 Scotdance Canada Championships Series in Saskatoon. In everything from the Choreography competition to the Canadian Inter-Provincial Championships, they competed in all aspects of the 4 day series. These dancers danced very well bringing some great results back for the studio. Congratulations to all dancers, your hard work is reflected in the results.
Owen Goodman won a 7th in the 9 & Under Highland Competition, two 6ths in the 9 & Under Canadian Inter-Provincial Championships and a 6th in the 9 & Under Scotdance Open Championships.
Madeline Goodman won a 7th in the 11 Years Highland Competition, a 4th and a 7th in the Nationals Competition and judges' placings in the 11 Years Scotdance Open Championships.
Katie Rattay won a 5th and 6th in the 11 Years Highland Competition and came 5th Runner Up in the 11 & Under Canadian Inter-Provincial Championships.
Steven Black won a 7th in the 16-17 Year Restricted Premier Highland Competition.
Elaine Vallis won a 5th in the 16-17 Years Restricted Premier Highland Competition, two 6ths in the Nationals Competition and a 4th in the 16-17 Years Pre-Championships.
Sonya Vallis won a 2nd and 8th in the 18-20 Years Restricted Premier Highland Competition and a 3rd and two 4ths in the Nationals Competition.
Kim Drabyk won the 21 & Over Restricted Premier Highland aggregate with two 1st and a 2nd, won a 4th in the Nationals Competition and a 3rd and 8th in the 21 & Over Pre-Championships.
Elaine, Sonya and Kim also entered a piece in the 16 & Over Small Group Choreography.
Cameron Collins won a 1st, 5th and 6th in the 21 & Over Highland Competition and a 3rd, 4th and 5th in the Nationals Competition. He also came 4th Runner Up in the 18 & Over Canadian Inter-Provincial Championships and 2nd Runner Up in the 21 & Over Scotdance Open Championship, as well as the SDCCS Premier Male High Aggregate.

A busy Spring season saw the studio competing in the Bellingham Highland Games, Sons of Scotland Highland Games and the United Scottish Highland Games this past weekend. You may have even spotted a number of our students dancing on the June 25th episode of Breakfast Television, promoting the Coquitlam Games. Thanks again to those dancers who came out bright and early to film that live event.

Karina Valcke-Beckett won a 3rd and 4th in the Novice 7-9 class.
